The Zero2Maker Play App is designed for students to access educational content, participate in challenges, track their learning progress, and submit evidence of their work.

2. Information We Collect
The information we process depends on how you use Zero2Maker Play.
2.1 Account and Profile Information
When a student account is created and used, we may process information associated with the account, including:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number, where applicable
- Student/account role
- Team information, where applicable
- Profile information
- Profile picture/avatar, where applicable
- Other information associated with the student's Zero2Maker account
This information is used to provide the student's account, identify the student within the platform, and provide the relevant learning experience.
2.2 Login and Authentication Information
To authenticate students, Zero2Maker Play processes:
- Email address
- Password
- Authentication/session tokens
Passwords are stored on our servers using cryptographic password hashing rather than being stored as plain-text passwords.
The mobile application uses authentication tokens to communicate with the Zero2Maker Play API. Authentication tokens are stored securely on the device using the platform's secure storage facilities.
3. Learning and Challenge Activity
Zero2Maker Play processes information related to a student's learning activity, including:
- Challenges accessed
- Challenge completion information
- Challenge progress
- Experience points (XP)
- Submission status
- Challenge review results or verdicts
- Recommended or next challenges
This information is used to provide the learning experience, track progress, and determine relevant next steps within the platform.
4. Challenge Submissions
Students can submit evidence of their work as part of challenges.
A submission may contain:
- A written description of the student's work
- Project links
- Video URLs
- Uploaded photographs or images
- Submission status
- Review or verdict information
- Submission timezone, where applicable
Challenge submissions are stored in our application database and may be made available to authorized instructors, reviewers, or administrators for the purpose of reviewing student work.
Students should avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in challenge submissions.
5. Photos and Images
The mobile application allows students to select photographs from their device's camera or photo gallery and attach them to challenge submissions.
These images are used as visual evidence of the student's work.
Uploaded images are stored on the Zero2Maker Play application server. Related image metadata is stored in our application database.
Uploaded images may be displayed to the student and made available to authorized instructors or reviewers for evaluation of the submitted challenge work.
The application currently supports image uploads subject to the applicable submission limits and file restrictions.
6. How We Use Information
We use information processed through Zero2Maker Play for purposes including:
- Providing and maintaining student accounts
- Authenticating users
- Providing educational and challenge content
- Tracking learning progress
- Recording challenge activity and submissions
- Reviewing student work

The authentication token used to maintain the student's authenticated session is stored using secure device storage.

- Onboarding completion status
- Recently visited modules
- Recently visited sessions
- Haptic feedback preferences
- Other application preferences required for the user experience
These local preferences are stored on the device and are not used as an advertising or analytics profile.
8. Cookies and Website Sessions
The Zero2Maker Play website uses session technology to maintain authenticated website sessions.
The website may use a PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) to maintain a user's authenticated state.
The mobile application does not rely on the website's session cookie for API authentication. Instead, the mobile application communicates with the API using an authentication token.
9. IP Addresses and Security
We may temporarily process an IP address when necessary for security purposes, such as limiting repeated or potentially abusive login attempts.
IP addresses used for this purpose are handled as part of the platform's security and rate-limiting mechanisms and are not maintained as a permanent student profile in the application database for this purpose.
10. Technical Logs
The Zero2Maker Play backend may generate technical error logs when errors occur.
These logs are used for:
- Diagnosing technical problems
- Maintaining the reliability of the service
- Identifying and resolving system errors
The inspected Zero2Maker Play application does not currently implement services such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Meta Pixel, Crashlytics, or Sentry.
11. Third-Party Content and Services
Zero2Maker Play may display or embed content from third-party services.
For example:
- YouTube videos may be displayed within the mobile application.
- Students may provide links to external services such as YouTube or Google Drive as part of their challenge submissions.
- External web content may be displayed through the application's web-view functionality.
When you interact with third-party services or content, those third parties may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

12. How We Store Information
Zero2Maker Play stores application information using the systems supporting the Zero2Maker Play service.
Student account, challenge, progress, and submission information is stored in our application database.
Uploaded challenge evidence images are stored on the application server's file storage.
Authentication tokens used by the mobile application are stored securely on the user's device.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as it is needed to provide and operate the Zero2Maker Play service, maintain student learning and submission records, meet operational requirements, or otherwise as appropriate for the purposes for which the information was collected.
Specific retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.
When information is no longer required, applicable deletion processes may be used.
Authentication tokens may be invalidated and removed when a user logs out. Uploaded submission images may also be removed when the associated submission or account is deleted through the applicable administrative processes.

The Zero2Maker Play mobile application does not currently provide a self-service account deletion function.
Account deletion or deactivation is handled through administrative processes.

Where a student uses the service through a school, organization, teacher, or other educational program, account access and related information may also be managed through that program.
